The national park is divided into 4 parts (Buhoma, Rihuja, Rushaga and Nkuringo district) where more than 400 mountain gorillas live in different families. In this ancient jungle, besides mountain gorillas there are also 9 other monkey species, different bird species and butterfly species.

If you are less mobile, please let us know beforehand. There are possibilities to have a face-to-face encounter with the mountain gorilla even when you have limited mobility. Though, we must be informed in advance to make necessary arrangements.

To avoid the extinction of the gorilla and also to prevent mass tourism, a visit to the mountain gorillas is an expensive activity. Gorilla tracking requires a permit that costs $700 p.p.
