Nature Walks & Walking Safaris in Tanzania
Walking Safaris in Tanzania is a nice and fun alternative to your safari program. Visit the Ngurdoto Crater in Arusha National Park. This crater has a diameter of 3,6 kilometers and a walk on the edge of this crater will definitely impress you with amazing views and its beautiful flora & fauna.
In Arusha National Park you can also choose to climb Mount Meru. With its 4566 meters, this mountain is the sixth highest mountain in Africa. You can also decide to only do a day trip to Mount Meru, though the top should not be your goal. To reach the top you will need to plan for at least a 3-days trip.
Another great place to do a walking safari is around Lake Manyara. This walk is not only through nature, but will also bring you to the village and meet de local people. If you walk a bit further you can explore the banana plantations and the rice fields. A beautiful and unique walk!
If you would like to go on a safari walk inside the national parks, you need the guidance of an armed ranger. He or she will tell you all about nature and wildlife. Go on a walking safari in Serengeti National Park, or go on chimpanzee tracking in Mahale Mountains National Park. We really recommend you book these activities in advance as last-minute bookings might not always be possible.
