Day 1

Arrival in Nairobi

Morning/Afternoon
After a long flight, you will be welcomed by our guide/driver and take a short drive to check in at Tamarind Tree Hotel. Here, you can relax and begin your safari adventure well-rested.

Day 2

Nairobi to Buffalo Springs Nationaal Reserve

Morning/Afternoon
After a short safari briefing, you’ll set off on a scenic early morning drive to Buffalo Springs National Reserve. Along the way, pass through lively villages, lush coffee and tea plantations, and rolling hills. Although the drive is long, the ever-changing landscapes offer a perfect introduction to Kenya’s beauty and culture.
Evening
Arrive in time for lunch at Ashnil Samburu Camp, nestled along the Ewaso Nyiro River with stunning views of the majestic Ol Olokwe Mountain. In the afternoon, set out on your first game drive in search of the Special Five—Samburu’s unique and rare wildlife.

Day 3 & 4

Discover Buffalo Springs National Reserve

Ochtend/Middag
Over the next two days, you’ll continue to explore the stunning Buffalo Springs National Reserve. What makes this area unique is the chance to spot the Special Five—the Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, beisa oryx, gerenuk, and Somali ostrich—alongside more familiar wildlife.

Given the warm temperatures, early morning and late afternoon game drives are ideal for wildlife viewing. In between, relax by the pool and enjoy the serene surroundings.

Optional Activities from Buffalo Springs National Reserve

Visit Reteti Elephant Sanctuary: The first indigenous elephant sanctuary in Africa, fully managed by the local community. As a visitor, you contribute to the care and maintenance of the elephants and witness how they are fed, cared for, and prepared for life in the wild.

Visit the local Samburu: A visit to the Samburu tribe is a unique and authentic cultural experience. The Samburu are a semi-nomadic people closely related to the Maasai but with their own traditions, language, and lifestyle. Learn about their way of life, their god Nkai, enjoy a village tour, and admire their beautiful colorful beadwork—perfect souvenirs to take home!

Visit the Blue Pools: Located in the dry, rugged landscape of Northern Kenya, these hidden natural baths can be found along the Ewaso Nyiro River. With crystal-clear water, they provide a refreshing dip and are a vital lifeline for the reserve’s wildlife.

Day 5

Buffalo Springs NR – Ngare Ndare Forest – Nanyuki Area

Morning
After breakfast, you’ll leave for the magical Ngare Ndare Forest. This enchanting reserve at the foot of Mount Kenya is known for its turquoise natural pools, dense forest, and spectacular canopy walk. A hidden gem that offers a unique mix of adventure, nature, and wildlife.
Afternoon
After a delicious lunch, you’ll drive to the Nanyuki area, where you’ll stay at Soames—a charming, small-scale hotel with stunning views of Mount Kenya. In the late afternoon, relax and enjoy a sundowner while soaking in the picturesque scenery.

Day 6

Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Morning/Afternoon
After breakfast, depart for the unique Ol Pejeta Conservancy, a remarkable reserve known for its white and black rhinos, including the last two northern white rhinos in existence. You’ll also have the opportunity to visit the chimpanzee sanctuary. Enjoy lunch at the Morani Restaurant, located in the heart of the park, before continuing your game drive. In the afternoon, return to Soames to relax and unwind.

Day 7

Nanyuki area – Lake Naivasha

Morning/Afternoon
After breakfast, depart for Lake Naivasha, the largest freshwater lake in Kenya. Upon arrival, head out onto the water to spot hippos and a variety of beautiful water birds, all while enjoying the stunning views. Stop at Crescent Island for a walk and a delicious lunch surrounded by wildlife. Afterwards, return by boat and drive to Bilashaka Lodge to relax for the evening.

Day 8

Lewa Conservancy

Morning/Afternoon
On the final day of the safari, begin with a visit to a rose nursery. The tour takes you through the greenhouses, offering a fascinating insight into how roses are prepared for their journey to Europe—an exclusive look into this unique process.
It’s time to say goodbye to the lodge, the people, and the incredible wildlife. Enjoy one last scenic drive across the Rift Valley on your way to Nairobi. Upon arrival, you may choose to take a day room to relax and prepare for your long flight home in peace.
